Hi all, I am using LyX 1.5.5 and would like to upgrade to 1.6. What is the best way to do this? Should I *un*install 1.5.5 and then install 1.6, or just upload the new, install it, and it will erase the old? Or, finally, should I wait a bit longer for another 1.6 version to come, which is better

I am writing a paper with lyx, and for some reason viewing of exporting DVI or PDF stopped working at all. Not even an error message. I managed to narrow it down to the mathematical formulas. Something happened along the way that turned them into offending things. I can't even create a new formula

When trying to view the pdf file, lyx suggested to change the encoding to utf8. I did, and the file compiles just fine. BTW, I notice that in the endocing drop-down list there are utf8 and UTF8 (not to mention utf8-plain and utf8x). Does anyone know what the differences between them are? On Wed,
