So far what I have is:
john@ubuntu:~$ tlmgr
/usr/local/texlive/2011/bin/i386-linux/tlmgr: missing action; try --help if

john@ubuntu:~$ which tlmgr
/usr/local/texlive/2011/bin/i386-linux/tlmgr
And strangely enough this works
