I recommend PDF(pdflatex). But as you don't se this entry in the menus, you should update your LaTeX distribution. Assuming that you use teTeX 2.0.2, you should update to the new teTeX 3.0, which uses pdflatex as default engine. (Don't forgt to reconfigure LyX after the update. Sounds great.
