Could http://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/PDF#toc5 be out of date?
I like the idea of replacing the bitmap fonts (even though they seem quite
good to me) with T1 vector fonts, but am not sure where to specify latin
modern. On my lyx, 1.6.2, there is no Layout→Document menu item.
Could someone set me right
Perfect! Thanks Vincent.

Sigh. Lots of OT posts here about subject tagging and OSs.
Maybe anyone with anything to say about Lyx could tag their subject with [Lyx]
so I can just ignore the rest of this?

FWIW I hate index entries that redirect me. There may be an occasional
justified use (redirect me to a concept with many sub-entries) but most
redirect me to another entry to give me a page or two. Surely this is
archaic?

I'm new here myself but, iiuc, the difference between a chapter and a chapter*
is that the former appears in the toc whilst the later doesn't.
So, if you want a chapter* to appear in the toc, can't you just change it to a
chapter?

that was compounded by Lyx complaining.
There's maybe something here that needs looking at?
