Write in the date manually rather than using a macro that grabs the system date. The same thing happens in OpenOffice.org, because the insert-date macro uses the current date rather than a fixed date. Very annoying when I need to reprint a letter I did not anticipate needing to reprint.

asy to compile lyx on the latest Cygwin, using Cygwin tetex, acroread, etc. I don't really know how to package what I have, though. I'm probably too busy to try soon in any case. If you want to try installing Cygwin on your Win32 box and compiling lyx, I can probably give you some help, though. --
