Centering math equations

I'm fairly new to LyX and I'm comfortable with the basic text features. However, now I'm converting a paper I presented last year at a meeting into LyX and I'm stuck on the few equations. I know how to enter math mode, but I don't know how to have the equation centered on the line. I've read

http://www.lyx.org/help/mathstuff/equations/equations.html alt-m-m for inlinemode alt-m-c for displaymode (own paragraph and by default centered) That would be alt-m-d... (I got that from your page ;) And I might add: _now_ I know after spending half the centering formulas by hand... :)
