List of itemized lists in outline panel?

In my week-long search for a way to use LyX as a skeletal outliner, I finally realized that I could use suitably renumbered nested lists as a make-do solution. However, it would be infinitely more useful if the ouline panel could show the various items, as it does for sections and subsections.
