Why I would need a converter when pdflatex can use unconverted pdfs?
There is also no converter listed for PDF - PNG that I could remove.
This is supposed to work - just insert-graphics and give
the filename of your pdf. view-pdflatex or export-pdflatex
should not convert it in any way!
I tried your files on my Windows XP LyX 1.5.4 and it seems OK.
The PDF file obviously used a vector version of the picture ( I tried
6400% magnification).
Hope it helps.

Same here (also XP, LyX 1.5.4). I think Daniel may have hit on the

Thanks for all the help.
I reinstalled LyX 1.5.4 from source and it works now. It seems my old
installation was somehow really bugged.

Hi,
I am using PDF figures. Lyx does convert them to png before and chops them
incorrectly. I would like to use the pdf figures directly, is it possible?
How?
I have not been able to figure this out with the documentation, sorry if it
has been posted before.
