Still problems with multicol

to repeat my situation:
I have a twocolumn koma-book document
I have selected twocolumn in documentpage
I have added in the preample
\usepackage{multicol}
in order

I have installed texlive 2005 and want to use multicolumn
if I put in the preample
\usepackage multicolumn
it is not found.
I have done the texconfig and texhash
what am I doing wrong?
