LaTeX question
Hi it has proven very helpful for me to have at the end of my documents the full path of the master file. Giving a look to the latex preview (many thanks for that feature !;-) I saw the definition of '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'. Great, first part of the information needed, already available (to be included in a '\makeatletter / \makeatother' pair for latex's sake). For the second part, i.e. the actaual filename some time ago in this lsit the TeX command '\jobname' has been mentioned. Wunderful. AS LONG AS you don't have illegal cahrs in your path (Like '_' which I use quite a lot. Does anybody know how to modify TeX strings as 'Test_01' to 'Test\_01', i.e. escape the illegal chars with a backslash. I'm sure it is possible but my TeX knowledge is not sufficient. Any help appreciated. Re: multiple windows
The two lyx's don't talk to each other, i.e. you cannot copy and paste between them, only via external selection. Can that some how be achieved? A useful feature would be the xemacs style divider into two parts either vertically or horizontally. Miki Paul A. Rubin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Stefano Baroni wrote: Hi all. Is it possible to open multiple documents in differnt windows displayed simultaneously in LyX 1.5? Thanks - SB Yes, but how depends on what you mean by displayed simultaneously. You can open multiple documents in one copy of LyX 1.4.x and navigate between them. In 1.4.4, at the bottom of the View menu are links to each open document; in earlier versions, you had the same option but possibly in a different part of the menu. What you cannot do in one copy of 1.4.x is display two versions side by side. (When you switch to one document, the other one disappears from the GUI.) To actually view two documents side by side, open them in separate instances of LyX. (You can have multiple instances running at the same time.) HTH, Paul
PgUp/PgDn problem
Hi. i've tried the 1.5.0. RC2 in Windows and I noticed that the PgUp/PgDn keys on the keyboard doesn't move all the way to the start/end when I place the cursor in the middle of a short file. The keys works fine in longer files, but even there, when I get close to the start/end of the file, it doesn't move any further. Has anyone noticed this?

LyX, pdflatex and local hyperlinks
Using LyX, pdflatex and the hyperref package I'm trying to produce a PDF that contains links to locally-stored files. What I want to do is to click on a link to an HTML file in the PDF and have it start my browser (Firefox) and then load the required HTML file. The following, in ERT, almost works, but clicking on the link produced in the PDF starts three instances of Firefox, only one of which shows the required HTML file. \href{file://F:/Directory1/Directory2/index.html}{name} This is a menace, can anyone suggest better ways of inserting links to local HTML files in PDFs? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Regards, Nick. -- Nick and Anne Hopton, Caversham, Reading, England.

Hi all, Uwe told me that the LyX 1.5 and 1.4.5 will come out soon. Great! But: What is the difference between these versions? Why doesn't 1.5 fully replace 1.4.x ? Is it, that the switch to unicode and other new features is too different so that you better decided to run two versions for a time? Thanks, Matthias Diehl
