cross-reference to an enumerated item within a theorem

Hi. Is there a way to do the following? Suppose I have a "Proposition"
environment and the text is something like this

Proposition 3 [pro:some-label] The following holds:
 1. [enu:item1] something
 2. [enu:item2] other

and later on I want references to show, for example as:

"... by Proposition 3(2)"

Currently I use a Formatted reference for the first part and an
un-formatted reference for the second:

"... by [Formatted ref: pro:some-label]([Ref: enu:item2])"

or in plain LaTeX (with prettyref)

"... by \prettyref{pro:some-label}(\ref{enu:item2})"

This is a bit cumbersome. Since enu:item2 is inside the Proposition
environment, would it be possible to infer the label pro:some-label
associated with that environment to create a format in prettyref so
that referring only to the individual item, so that it gives you the
full reference, i.e. something like

"... by [Formatted ref: enu-item2]"

yields

"... by Proposition 3(2)"

?

Dear Christoph,
I had the very same problem and I have already signaled it as a bug in 
the LyX forum.

When you use multirow, some borders disapper.
You can solve by using the old command \multirow as I show in the 
attached file (you must also put \usepackage{multirow} in the preamble).
Instead, when you do not have borders, you can use the multirow botton 
in LyX.

All together 982 lines as above.
Besides that, gentoo amd64 works fine on my box and I emerge everyday packages 
to upgrade, except those which are kde's.
Questions:
- what the hell is this mess, did I do something wrong ?
- have any of you got the same kind of troubles ?
- is there a way to go back to an up to date clean install, I mean besides 
reinstalling from scratch or going for Ubuntu ?
Reasons that make me go for gentoo 8 or 9 years ago:
- excellent docs. (as of to-day, some docs need updating);
- easyness of maintenance, no need for periodical reinstall (I'm not sure this 
time);
- stable packages are renewed in time, not too soon, not too late;
- portage works like a charm.

To give us some useful information, please post the full latex log (in
Document > Log), the exact name of the file (there are known issues
when parentheses are part of the file name), and if possible a
_minimal_ example that reproduces the problem.

Try to install elyxer and then Tools > Reconfigure in LyX. The elyxer

I am using Lyx 1.6.7. when I try to use natbib package with author year style, 
the intext references are displayed without the square brackets in the end as
Text Liu et. Al (1998) textinstead of text [Liu et. Al (1998)] text
This problem does  not appear when I choose numeric style.
Can u please help solve this issue

The problem of to large graphics is one which I am also am confronted with
when using LyX. Most of the time, it is caused by images from digital
cameras. And this is when I am missing one feature in LyX: downscaling the
pictures auomatically to a specified resolution of the printed graphs.

It should not be to difficult to implement: provide to each *raster* image
an additional field in the insert-graphics window, to resampled to a given
resolution. I assume the actual print size can be obtained from LaTeX, so
the image could be, in addition to be scaled, resampled to the provided
resolution. This would be a very useful feature. This resampling could be
configured during the reconfigure, and could be a kind of a copier "jpeg to
jpeg".

By the way - if it would be possible to define a copier "jpeg to jpeg" (it
does not seem to be possible in 2.0), it would be very easy to include
automatic resampling.
