We have installed TortoiseSVN 1.7.3 (Subversion 1.7.2). We have setup the subversion server Ubuntu (11.04) using apache svn (subversion 1.6.12). Most of us (clients) are windows (7) users. So.. how can we prepare a collaborative document in LyX in windows system. Please.. Do you have any suggestion, the system that we have to use. When I open lyx document (*.lyx) in control version folder (using TortoiseSVN). The file that I open does not show that it is under control version. A guy on the tex on mac osx listserv gave me a simple way to install the fonts and get them recognized on the system: start the mactex/tex live installer, deselect everything that's already selected, select the install tex gyre fonts option, complete the install. For reasons explained to me by Stefano---the main one being that the app in which I compose, Scrivener, exports unicode---I am going with xetex for compiling. Prior to that I tried a latex compile with the tex gyre specified in the preamble, but it didn't work. Got a message to the effect that "could not open 'file.dvi'". Again, thanks for responding. This can be done in the UI: Just copy over the information from the existing "LaTeX (pdflatex)" --> "PDF (pdflatex)" converter. Then LyX knows how to produce the pdf5 format, and it should invoke your copier when it is done. Richard
Page numbers in book document class
I am using the book(AMS) document class to write a chapter for a book.
Almost everything is fine, except for the first page of the
Bibliography: its page number is at
the bottom of the page, rather than in the upper right corner, where all
the other pages have their numbers.
Using \thispagestyle{headings} did not fix it.
Any ideas?

If the PDF reader tells you there are fonts in the document which are not embedded, check any PDF figures the same way. The solution for non-embedded fonts in PDF figures depends on the source of the figures: if you didn't generate the figures yourself, embedding the fonts could be tricky. The ultimate solution is to convert the PDF figures to raster images (PNG is best) at high enough resolution to meet your final requirements. But this can generate very large PDF files. Les

When I create a test file and use same bst or different (plainnat) I get the same errors from bibtex... I am still presuming I have to put the bsts yet some other place, but they are all over now... any input more on this? According to http://tug.org/mactex/faq/#qm04 I should put my bst file under ~/Library/texmf/tex/ which I have already done (also tried several other places, so I can't understand why it can't be read?
