Cannot edit LaTeX child document in LyX 2.1
Subject basically says it all: When I try to edit a LaTeX child document from within LyX 2.1.1 (by clicking 'edit' in the child document window) I get an error message 'LyX: Cannot edit file. Auto-edit file "path-to-file" failed.' It does work with LyX child documents and it also works with LyX 2.0.8.1, which is also installed on the same machine. It did not work with 2.1.0, either. As far as I can see the paths/settings are the same in 2.1.1 and 2.0.8.1, but please let me know whether I should check something specific. I'm on Windows 7 btw. Thanks!

I also write on and off German language texts, and though I have a German Mac keyboard as spare at home and will connect it if I write something long, I really would like to be able to easily/quickly type the German Umlaute in lower and Upper case on the standard (US) keybopard. Alt-s is helpful, but I can't find the others. ERT is not only Evil, it also takes 4-5 Keystrokes for the price of one :-)-O Any ideas, perhaps for assignments to key combinations? greetings, el on 2014-08-19, 21:09 David L. If you can run LyX from a terminal, you're likely to get more robust error messages. You can also try View> Messages Pane, and activate "Files used by LyX". Richard

It's easy to assign any command or keystrokes to, say, function keys or
Alt-Key combinations. You only need the \ss, \"{a}, etc., which is not so
many to deal with. I would probably set it up within ERT, but you can also
find the appropriate text-based codes.

Hello, I generate a presentation with beamer and I use the overlays option. Thus I got 117 slides but only 47 pages. I would like to print the complete 47 pages and not the 117 slides. Hi Patrick, Try using the "handout" class option. Let us know if that doesn't do what you want. Note that if you're using LyX 2.1.x there is a beautiful new Beamer manual full of lots of useful advice. I think it covers this and a lot more. Also note that Beamer support in LyX 2.1.x has changed a lot so be expect surprises if switching. Best, Scott
I can't solve a latex message error
When I tray to compile a doc with childs I get a message that say: Incomplete \iffalse; all text after was ignored after line 2203 but I have not idea how to relate line 2203 with my lyx doc, I think the bug is in a child doc but in the latex message error I have not text that aimed to any part.
