Running LyX-2.1.2 here. There is now a table icon bar (with all options
greyed out) along the bottom of the display, even when there is no open
table being edited. How do I remove this bar?

I do not know why it worked, but this method has worked after having
restarted my laptop today. After having launched through the terminal and
run Reconfigure, I can now find everything in LyX. I ma relieved.
