Insert_Figure

2001-08-05 Thread Karshi Hasanov

 Hi,

 What's the best way of inserting figures?
(1) Insert=> Figure?
(2) Insert=>FloatFigure=>Insert=>Figure?

I am using the option(2), but it puts the picture at the end of the section
(not the place where I meant).
Thanks

1. I have checked : the command
">{\PBS\centering\hspace{0pt}}p{2cm}"
is only needed for the last column and
i can still use the "old"
">{\centering\hspace{0pt}}p{2cm}"
for the others.
But it still works if I use
">{\PBS\centering\hspace{0pt}}p{2cm}"
for all columns.

2. I wasn't able to read your
attached file without destroying
the tables. (Your LyX version is 1.1.,
mine is 1.0.4) but I have noticed that
in the preamble you use the
package tabularx. It seems to
work for me without it.
Is tabularx really needed ?

3. Are these "tricks" necessary in the
latest LyX version ?

You cannot use the latex \displaystyle command because it confuses the lyx
parser (this will be fixed in 1.2.0), so you need to use an alias instead.

ToC and LoF questions

2001-08-05 Thread Frederic Leymarie

Hi

I use the "BibTeX generated References" facility in my LyX
document (article), but the label "References" does not
appear in the Table of Content ...

How can I fix this ?

Also, is there a way to make the "abstract" and "list of figures"
appear ?

How to have shorten entries for the figure captions in the List of Figures ?

Finally, how to make the page numbers go from "i" on the title page
until the end of the List of Figures and then switch to numbers, starting with "1"
on the Introduction page ?

thanks
Frederic
