I use Koma script book style and want to get rid of an empty page which is put
between my two column part and one column part
two column part
* here is end of a list
In the following slides are shown:
(now I have to switch to onecolumn-style, since the slide show is in a table
i tried using this hint

however, this complains that babel for language danish is not loaded.
so i tried to put \usepackage[danish]{babel} in preamble, but then all of
the document is apparently turned into danish - TOC is translated ...

Does someone know how to use Chinese caracter in a lyx document (so in
Latex as well ).
I'm using the Slackware 10.2 distribution.

* The \spadesuit now displays the correct glyph
* I tried several other symbols from the Math Panel and they also are
fine
* (I don't know how to insert symbols by means other than the Math
Panel, so I didn't test that)

Strange, here it works. See attached file. Maybe, you have a done a slight
error (like putting return and not ctrl-return in the ERT box).

converting Framemaker files into Docbook Lyx files?
I have the exported 'MIF' and 'XML' files from Framemaker version 5. I
also have the original .fm5 files, and I have the PDFs that were
generated by Framemaker.

references to sections/chapters and so on - I have not had
a lot of luck in going from one format to another -
(my personal preference has been latex/pdflatex and
tth/hevea or latex2html for html conversion)
