EPS to PDF conversion
Hi! I am using LyX 1.5.1 on Windows and I wonder if there is any way I can configure the conversion from EPS to PDF (when I run pdflatex). The point is that the fonts of my figures (which are in EPS format) are not embedded on the PDF. If am not wrong, LyX uses Imagemagick, and the latter uses Ghostscript. I know the proper parameter I have to pass to Ghostscript, but I do not know how the latter is invoked. Thanks! Cheers, Nicolás
How to add a figure
Hello, I am making a beamer presentation using lyx. I am trying to add a figure to a frame, a graph for example. I have converted it to eps. Then I tryied adding via the option InsertFloatFigure and typinf the adress to the figure which is in my /home/lucas directory. Then I generated the pdf via pdflatex and the figure isn't shown in the pdf. I also tryied InsertGraphics option and I got the same result. I really need this help because if I can't add this figure I will have redo everything I have already done (20 slides) to oo.org impress and that will be a total waste of time. Please help me! aspell problems after updating to LyX 1.5 (Mac)
Hi, I'm experiencing weird behaviour of aspell after updating from LyX 1.4.4 to 1.5.1 (Intel Mac). aspell starts working but points out all kinds of words it should surely know, like das, ein, an or Kaffee in Swiss German. I checked my aspell installation and made sure that the path is correct: /usr/local/lib/aspell-0.60/swiss in the LyX Preferences -- Language Settings -- Spellchecker -- Alternative Language field Spelling in both document and LyX Preferences is set to German (new spelling). This setup worked fine before ... Does anyone know how to tackle this? I couldn't find a solution in the Wiki or this list's archive. Many thanks, -- Christian

Recently moved to Ubuntu, which I much prefer to windows. However, I'm having trouble finding a suitable word processor. My problem is that I need 'intelligent' outlining. Ie. header a child b child b child c child c child b header a I'd like to be able to then fold in by level so I can choose to see only header a's plus child b's, with child c's hidden or only header's and then be able to unfold in same way. I find it a good way to write / study. My question is whether I can do this with Lyx or is an overkill? If it is, any suggestions? I'm not going to be doing any proper DTP work. Rgds Andy
