I meant 90 seconds, not 90 minutes, sorry... MikTeX (2.8) is up to
date and not running in the background, so that doesn't seem to be the
issue. I have also noticed that if I make any changes to the
preferences LyX locks for a couple of minutes. Tried suspending virus
software, but that didn't help

i know the above was a admin message the reason for the bounces is
