Re: Question about Ctrl M inline formula
Does the status bar (bottom of window) say anything when you hit Ctrl-M? Perhaps it was accidentally assigned to something other than inserting an inline formula. Also, it might help to report what OS you're using. Paul
In openSUSE 11.4, scrolling in LyX RC1 very slow
Hi,I recently upgraded to openSUSE 11.4 (from 11.3). I installed LyX from one of the KDE unstable repo (the only ones have lyx 2.0), and the scrolling is not only very slow, but also it consumes huge CPU usage. I tried to compile LyX from the source, but it was slow as well. (Actually I did this first because I did not want to add unstable repo)In openSUSE 11.3 this did not happen. Any ideas where to look? Could it be related to QT?-Joon
Question about Ctrl M inline formula
Hi all: Something annoying has happened to me while using Lyx 1.6.9-2. A week ago, I used to be able to type "Ctrl + M" in order to get the inline formula mode, but right now it doesn't work anymore! I need to click Insert -> Math -> Inline formula everytime I want to do it. On the other hand, Ctrl + Shift + M works for display formula mode. This is giving me a bit of a headaches, as I need to type many inline formulas and I used to do it very quickly before. Any thoughts of what's going on in my Lyx? Thanks, Joel.

Most importantly, it correcty outputs \addto\captionsenglish{\renewcommand{\figurename}{Figure}} \addto\captionsgreek{\renewcommand{\figurename}{Εικόνα}} I wonder why you get the English figurename in captionsgreek. Could be a bug that was fixed along the way, I don't know. I started this document about a month ago and have been building LyX from SVN every 3-4 days.

Why does LyX change \figurename to "Figure" on its own? It even does that after the preamble, so there's no hope of overriding it. Can you post an example file? I found the problem. Re: Portable version of LyX?
Hello Phil, hello Liviu, thank you for your suggestions. Now I have downloaded LyTeX from the following Webpage: http://code.google.com/p/lytex/downloads/list and extract it in a directory on the USB-Stick. LyTeX included portable versions of MikTeX and LyX and works fine. No other LaTeX-Distribution is needed. Greetings from Germany Marcus Glöder -- E-Mail: m.gloe...@gmx.de
Re: Portable version of LyX?
Hello Liviu, thank you for your answer. You have written: One way is to install Ubuntu (or similar) on an USB stick and install on it LyX. This is no way for me. Nearly all computers where I work, have the Windows operating system. Linux from a USB flash drive to boot to work with Lyx and then at the end start again Windows from the hard drive is too much trouble. Also, my USB Flash Drive have only 8GB of memory. But thanks for the suggestion. Liviu Best regards Marcus -- E-Mail: m.gloe...@gmx.de
Re: Portable version of LyX?
Hello Phil, thank you for your answer. I used LyTeX (yes, it is easy to install) and it works good for me... I like it. yes, it is very easy to install and works fine. :-) I discoverd LyTex before I have read your answer. Now I have installed it instead of USBTeX. Have a nice day Marcus -- E-Mail: m.gloe...@gmx.de

Portable version of LyX?
Hello and a nice day at all, is there a easy way (or is it generally possible) to install LyX at a USB-Stick and use it at different computers? I have installed USBTeX 1.5, which included MiKTeX 2.9, TeXMaker and Sumatra PDF (a PDF-viewer). Thank You. Greetings from Germany Marcus Glöder -- E-Mail: m.gloe...@gmx.de

cls file problem, error previewing format
I've tried to install a new document class, using latex macro files supplied by a journal called "Bayesian Analysis". I'm not sure they work right, my installation of Lyx 2.0 RC1 on ubuntu 64 linux seems to work ok for other formats. When I try to use this document class I get an error such as 16:14:48.221: Previewing ... 16:14:48.233: (buffer-view: Ctrl+R) 16:14:48.236: pdflatex "batry.tex" 16:14:48.252: This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-1.40.10 (TeX Live 2009/Debian) 16:14:48.253: restricted \write18 enabled. 16:14:48.255: entering extended mode 16:14:48.255: (./batry.tex 16:14:48.256: LaTeX2e <2009/09/24> 16:14:48.256: Babel and hyphenation patterns for english, usenglishmax, dumylang, noh 16:14:48.256: yphenation, ukenglish, loaded. 16:14:48.257: 16:14:48.292: Error while previewing format: pdf2 16:18:46.568: Automatic save done.
