Pages for Tables

2011-12-05 Thread Rilke Rainer Michael
Hello Lyx-User,

I am writing on a research report with Lyx. Everything works perfectly
fine. My documentclass is KOMA-Script.

In this report I have several tables. I would be fine to display each
table, irrespective of the size on one single page. Of course I can
insert page breaks and stuff, but this would crack my text apart.

Do you have any idea how I can write a command that fulfills this
requirement that every table is displayed within the document (not at
the end) but with a separate page?

I would be glad do get suggestions from you.

Kind Regards,
Rainer

Pass LyX comments through eLyXer?

2011-12-05 Thread Steve Litt
Hi Alex,

I found that my LyX comments don't get through to the finished HTML
file, and eLyXer's Options class appears to have no option for passing
through LyX comments.

How difficult would it be to add code so there's an option to convert
LyX comments to ? Comments would be an excellent
way to pass through eBook-only data, without it showing up in a book
printed from the same LyX file.

I looked at eLyXer for ten minutes and couldn't figure out how to do
it. That probably doesn't surprise you :-)

If it's too hard to do, or if there's not enough time to do it, I can
probably make a small program to scoop out the specific comment that
passes the eBook metadata, and give that information to the post-
processor. The post-processor already adds pagefeeds to every
item in the HTML file and captures the Title, Author and Date but
doesn't print them.

Thanks

2011-12-05 Thread Xu Wang
Liviu,

That's very interesting! Unless I misunderstood your directions, you
answered a different, but more interesting question than what I originally
was after with my question. Thank you for that.

What I was originally (and still) interested in is: suppose I delete the
"shortcut Alt+A I" part of the User Guide that I posted. How do I put it
back in? (and no, performing an "Undo" is not a fair answer :) ). Note that
"shortcut Alt+A I" is not entered in normal text. It's not even editable
text. I think it is an inset. Is that correct?

Sorry for being unclear,

Xu

"shortcut" inset?

2011-12-05 Thread Xu Wang
Hi, how can I enter a shortcut information type? Where is this covered in
the manuals?

For example, in the User Guide, it is written "change the state of the
current paragraph (shortcut Alt+A I)" in 3.2.3 Fine-Tuning

The latex code for the last part is written as

 \shortcut{Alt+A I}

When I right-click on the shortcut and go to "settings" it doesn't give me
a clue of how to reproduce it.

I tried googling "LyX information type" but that didn't give anything
useful.

Thank you,

But when I export to pdf, it's still broken. Do you mean it won't be
broken in the print version? (I don't have a printer here.)
Or is it something about my pdf/dvi settings that I can fix?

bibtopic backref

2011-12-05 Thread M.B. Schiekel
Hello everyone,

with LyX 1.6.9 I'm trying to use two bibliographies in one document.
\usepackage[dot]{bibtopic} in the preamble works fine.

Now I want have backreferences too with
\usepackage[backref=page, pdftex]{hyperref}.
According to the bibtopic manual, I've placed the
\usepackage[dot]{bibtopic} after the
\usepackage[backref=page, pdftex]{hyperref}
in my preamble.

But when I try to run pdftex in LyX, I get an errormsg, that bibtopic
must be placed after hyperref. Now I'm looking in the latex-file and LyX
has placed the \usepackage[dot]{bibtopic} before my preamble.
What can be done?

Thank you very much,
Cheers,
bernhard

Bother, sorry, please ignore my last message.

It turns out that Lyx 2.0.2 does *not* fix the epstopdf problem, sorry.
When I wrote my previous email, I had forgotten to delete the
"-eps-converted-to.pdf" files. Now that I have deleted the temporary
"-eps-converted-to.pdf" files, Lyx fails to correctly instruct epstopdf to
convert my eps files to pdf, ready for pdflatex to process.

Should I submit a bug report?

Many thanks,

Details of how to do this are in chapter 5 of the Customization manual.
The cls files need to do somewhere LaTeX can find them, i.e., in the
same sort of place the other cls files are (like article.cls). This part
has nothing to do with LyX but is just a LaTeX thing. The LyX part would
involve creating a layout file for these class files. That's what's

On windows7, LyX 2.0.2's scrolling is somehow broken to me. LyX.exe
takes 50% CPU (my machine is dual-core, so 50% CPU is max for many
programs), triggers CPU fan to max, and is very laggy (non smooth).

2.0.1, with both installers (official and Uwe's) has no such issue and
scrolls smoothly.

Even small documents trigger this, e.g. the "Introduction" to LyX.
