Dear community,
when I hold the backspace key for a moment and release it, it keeps
deleting characters for a short moment which I find very irritating. Is
there a way to define the backspace so that it imediately stops deleting
when it is not pressed anymore?

thanks! Closing the source view reduced the lag significantly, but a little
remains. Didn't expect this to be a cause of lag.
I also tried a new document but couldn't see a noticeable change.
I'm using Lyx 2.1.1 in a virtualized linux.

Yes, I do have LyX and LaTeX on my OLPC XO-Laptop. It fits also on the Nokia
N800 tablet - actually on any not too old SD-card.
