line of my lyx document begin lower down on the first page so it
doesn't bump into the letterhead. With the cursor in the first line and
doing Layout Paragraph Spacing, I put 2 inches into Space Above.

When I make up a mathematics exam, I often need to insert a series of
formulas inline but in displaystyle size (retaining the inline
position). I know how to force this with \displaystyle or by selecting
the _contents_ of an inline formula and choosing
