RE: Bold face of greek fonts in math mode

2006-08-10 Thread Gisbert, Fernando
Try using the boldmath package. Just write \usepackage{bm} in your preamble,
and then, inside your math environment, write \bm{\pi} and you'll get the bold
pi character.

Hello,
I tried all fonts available on the documents settings but $\mathbf{\pi}$
doesn't show any visual difference from $\pi$, in other words, it
doesn't seem to be bold! This happens on DVI, PS and PDF exports too.
Do I have to choose a different font (I use palatino 12pt)?
Or maybe a particular Postscript Driver (I'm with default)?

Regards,

I tried the layout2layout.py script, and it works well, now the pdf document
contains the index. Thanks very much for your help.

This is a problem in the layout conversion script that converts layout files
from 1.3 format to 1.4 format. Please try the procedure I decsribed at
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.general/29518/focus=29518 and
report whether it works.

problem with lyx-1.4.0 and beamer

2006-04-04 Thread Gisbert, Fernando
Title: problem with lyx-1.4.0 and beamer

Hi, I have a problem related with the pdf index generation with the beamer class. I write a simple lyx document, and when I view it with pdflatex, the resulting pdf leaves the left-side navigation panel empty, even using section and subsection environments in the lyx document. When I export the file to latex to see what happen, I see two strange lines:

\setcounter{secnumdepth}{-1000}
\setcounter{tocdepth}{-1000}

that in previous beamer documents had a value of 3 instead of -1000. I don't know why these two numbers are set to -1000, and I also don't know how to reset them to its original value. By setting them to a reasonable value, let's say 3, for instance, the index appears again. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I attach the lyx document.

Thanks.

Nomenclature

2006-02-28 Thread Gisbert, Fernando
Is there any way of generating a nomenclature inside lyx? I have not seen any
place where I can specify the makeindex options. I must export the lyx document
to latex and then perform a makeindex, but the problem is then that I have many
figures that are not *.ps or *.eps, and are not properly handled with latex
without converting them first, which is an awful task.
Thanks.

Yes, there is an argument to hyperref to set. Try
\usepackage[breaklinks]{hyperref}
/johan

Problem with hyperref and long names

2006-02-24 Thread Gisbert, Fernando
Possibly this is not a lyx question but a latex one, but anyway, any answer
will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to use hyperref to navigate my pfd
document, but when I write long title names, hyperref is not able to break the
line, and it gets out of the page. Is there any option in hyperref to avoid
this situation? Or is any other package that manages this appropriately?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Qt in SuSE 9.3 is corrupted. If you must use accents, you will have to
recompile Qt. I should know: it was I that filed the bug report to KDE.
It is far easier to download OpenSuSE 10 from
http://www.opensuse.org/Download. If instead of doing a clean install you do
an "upgrade system", you will be able to keep all your existing personal
files (back them up anyway).
On SuSE 10, my Lyx documents are written both in French ans Spanish, with all
due accents.

accented words in lyx 1.3.6 and suse 9.3

2005-11-07 Thread Gisbert, Fernando
I'm sure this topic has been commented before, but i can't find a satisfactory
answer in the mail archive. sorry. My problem is that lyx cannot manage
accented words (i'm writing a document in spanish, currently) under suse 9.3. I
had no problem under suse 9.1.

thanks in advance for any answer.
