Hi All,
I guess this has been asked many a time, but I find the way the
environment depth thing a bit strange.
I find it wierd that you have to click to increase the environment
depth for each paragraph in an environment. I.e.
for entering the following into lyx:
1. Non-words

I'd like to make the default fontsize scriptsize, and the default
alignment left.
I've tried
\renewcommand{\marginpar}[1]{\marginpar{{\fontsize scriptsize #1}}
and a few others but they don't seem to work.
I even tried editing my ~/.lyx/ui/default.ui to contain:
Item Marginal Note|M

alignment left in the margin notes...

I even tried editing my ~/.lyx/ui/default.ui to contain:

marginalnote-insert ; font-size scriptsize
I tried it, but it doesn't work for me. It does the marginalnote bit,
but not the font-size bit!!!
As for changing the icon code, I wouldn't know where to start...any ideas?

In regards to the external inset, is there anyway to get lyx to show a
