Problems with versions 144.2 and 144.3

Hi,
When I installed Versions 1.4.4.2 and 1.4.4.3, I could not get to the Document 
settings  latex preamble.  LyX simply froze.
  Help please?

 Try 1.4.4-4, where this problem is reportedly fixed.

LyX does not insert when inserting a Split environment

Hi everybody,
For some reason, when I insert a Split environment in an equation, LyX
does not insert the  in the source and as a result, the equations are not
aligned to the left. This is in contrast with the behavior for the  Array
environment. Is this normal? Is there any way to insert the  manually? (I
tried and did not succeed.)

Your help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot, butI tried it with the inverted slash and without without it
and also tried to use ctrl-L so that it thinks this is latex. It insists on
\.

  Try \. If you just type , LyX will likely escape it for you.

Classic Vs. Alternative Windows Installers

Hi,

I have been using LyX for about 5 years now and was always mystified by the
existence of the two versions of the installer. 

I have the 1.6.1 classical installed at the moment and in the past I used also
the alternative one.

With the 1.6.2 unavailable yet im the classic version: 
 - Does it make sense to wait?
 - Will the alternative installer remove the 1.6.1 classic or co-exist with
it? (I understand I cannot use the updater.)
 - In case I use the alternative installer, will I have to insert all my
preferences, customization, etc. again?

Will appreciate you help on the matter.

AND THANKS A LOT FOR THE GREAT PIECE OF SOFTWARE AND USEFUL WORK ENVIRONMENT.

miss something?

Problems with LyX 1.6.3

Hi,
I downloaded and installed version 1.6.3 (classic rather the alternative
installer) on WinXP64 system (over my previous 1.6.2 version). When I opened
documents, it would not compile them. It generated an empty tex file and issued
an error message about exporting buffer (don't have the exact wording). I tried
to reinstall. Same result. Reinstalled 1.6.2 and it works fine/

Did anybody have a similar experience? Ideas on how to solve the problem?

LyX, Beamer and math macros

Hi,
When using LyX to produce slides with Beamer, I encountered the following
issue. Beamer produces an empty slide wherever I insert my math macros. I
could not think of a way to "encapsulate" them.

Any help will be appreciated.
