I have been using Lyx for quite awhile now and have run into something I
do not have a clue on. I have the latex-xft-fonts installed. In math

All other symbols seem to work fine and appear on screen fine.

Hello,
I have tried with dvi and ps and it works. It is something about pdf. I
have tried also to export pdf with
In preamble add
\usepackage{sectsty}
\chapterfont{\centering}
Similarly, you can add
\sectionfont{\centering}, etc.
Sectsty is a standard LaTex package usually found in

I recently tried to add a new tex class (beamer). I unpacked the files into
appropriate subdirectories in my local tex tree (/usr/local/share/texmf), ran
texhash, opened lyx and ran reconfigure.
When I opened lyx again, beamer does not appear in the Doc class choices
although it does appear in
Thanks Nirmal, just for the record, one does need to run reconfigure in
Lyx to make it appear in the Doc class list.
By the way, beamer class is impressive piece of work.

I had Lyxpre1.3.6 version 17 working fine under windows. I uninstalled
and then installed 1.3.6. I now get an error that Lyx cannot find any
layout files and hence will not start. I do note that textclass.lst is
in place.
Any thoughts?

Okay, I should know the answer to this, in LaTex I do. Using Lyx, ams article
style, with ams packages, what modification is needed to get the equation
numbers on the right? I know that righttag is an option for the amstex
package but it is not clear how to obtain this in Lyx.
best regards,
panel.
It is easy to add buttons for \sum or \int.
Perhaps my patience is required here; I have seen hints that version 1.4 of
Lyx will make steps toward breaking the rather cumbersome (opinion) math
panel in smaller pieces.
thanks, Bill
