Two unrelated questions. first, when i put an abbreviation in the middle
of a sentence (ie, Mr.) lyx counts it as the end of a sentence, and puts
two spaces after it. Oops. how do i tell it to only put one space?

abotu it? i looked a bit in the tutorial, but couldnt figure it out,

Higha. I'm installing debian woody. install is almost over. I like it,
especially since i get to choose ALL my own packages, rather than having
someone red hat pick great big groups of them.

this is an unsatisfying reply. why would it be difficult to cut/paste
between two different lyx's? and if it is, could you say a bit more
about it? Why can't you copy it into a text editor, then copy it again
from there?

I've recently switched from red hat 7.3 to debian woody. I apt-got lyx,
it came without a hitch. started right up. i remember fighting all day
to get red hat to make it run.
anyway, my debian copy came without all the good stuff that my redhat came
with. i cant double space, i cant change
