Commutative diagrams
Hi,
What package do you recommend to do commutative diagrams?
How should I invoke it (i.e. is it sufficient to call
\usepackage{mypackage} from LaTeX preamble?
Also, do you know which font should be used to get the double-barred
capital letter that are usually used to represents sets such as |R,
the set of the reals, |N, the natural numbers, etc?
Sorry for the questions, but the search engine in the mailing list
archive didn't give me valuable information, though I think I've seen
this questions already answered somewhere.

As usual I have done cvs update then a ./configure --with-lyxname=lyx-1.1.6cvs --prefix=/usr/local/ but this time configure suddenly stopped issuing the following message checking for atexit... (cached) yes ./configure: line 11344: syntax error near unexpected token `LYX_CHECK_DECL_HDRS(mkstemp,unistd.h' ./configure: line 11344: `LYX_CHECK_DECL_HDRS(mkstemp,unistd.h stdlib.h)' I wonder wether something I am unaware of has to be done. Making a translation: po-file testing
Hi, LyXers I have an improved version of es.po ready for testing. I have downloaded, configured, compiled and installed lyx-1.1.6cvs. As I don't have the slightest clue on how to incorporate my corrections, I have overwritten the previous es.po in the po directory with my own. I have recompiled and reinstalled. No trace of my po file when starting LyX: it seems to be using the old one. Please note that I have been configuring with the flags --with-lyxname=lyx-1.1.6cvs --prefix=/usr/local Anybody knows what to do? I would like to start committing my translation files asap, but I need to do some testing, thanks to all, -- Álvaro Tejero Cantero p42.org
Unintended feature in Math-mode (RFF!!)
Hi, LyXers I have been using LyX now for more than a year and a half on an everyday basis. I feel that some little subtle things could be improved in math mode, and today (after some reflections) I have decided to share my views with you regarding one particular aspect. When you are writing in math mode you use attributes such as bold to convey information. Many people, as it is my case, use bold letters to mean that the particular mathematical object has a vectorial nature. There is no relationship between the vectorial nature of the letter a and it's subscript. BUT when one continues writing in subscript-level, it maintains the bold attribute given to the "parent" character. In a vast majority of cases this is absolutely unintended, and slows down mathematical writing a lot (i.e. going back to make the subscript again "normal"). I wish this behavior (appearing up to LyX 1.1.6cvs) was eliminated or, if someone has something in favor of it, at least user-selectable. Greets, -- Álvaro Tejero Cantero p42.org

Hello, I'm making a translation (es.po) and thus I need to see the messages that LyX echoes properly contextualized. As a result, I must install 1.1.6cvs, and prior to doing it, and as I have everyday work relying on 1.1.4, I would like to ask How must I do to keep both versions functional and separate in my Debian 2.2 system? I mean, do I need to be aware that this or that thing should be placed here or there or that some symlinks have to be created? thanks for the help, and keep up the good work! -- Álvaro Tejero Cantero p42.org

Problem #2: This translation has operational problems. i.e. you cannot open the document menu with F10, when you say A4 it takes A3 (in papersize) and so on. I find this is not acceptable in a sofware which maintains a very high quality standard otherwise. The spanish version is simply not usable (up to and including 1.1.5.fix1). Solution #1 (particular): does anybody know how to get lyx in english, without changing the LANG=es environment variable?. Solution #2 (general) I will be glad to retranslate all the interface, provided someone points out to me (offlist) the files to be edited and how to incorporate them into the current development version. Commentary: Thank you all for LyX. I've been using it to take physics notes on the fly, now for a year at faculty. You can download everything at p42.org (it's in spanish and under GFDL).
