Re: Links vs. -nodeps for install LYX on RH7.3?
Where did you get it? I found lyx-1.1.6fix4-133.src.rpm on fr2 [rpmfind] I was able to get it to rebuild - it took forever (~45 mins) - but then it says that it requires te_latex. But I already have tetex-latex installed, which should be about the same thing, right? I think I've wandered into a distinction between SuSE and other versions. Suggestions? Anyone know of any other RPM versions of 1.1.6fix4 around? On Wed, 30 Oct 2002 02:16, Carole Womeldorf wrote: Has anyone gotten Lyx to work on RH 7.3? Please help... Re: Links vs. -nodeps for install LYX on RH7.3?
I located a SuSE RPM that has BOTH libforms.so.0.88 and libforms.so.0.89 included in it - I found it referenced online, but couldn't find it on the web. Luckily I found it on my SuSE disks from my other computer: xforms-0.89-525.i386.rpm However the libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 is more problematic. Apparently RH7.3 installs newer versions that lyx 1.2.1 isn't happy with AND installing the older version isn't permitted because it conflicts with the newer version. Missing textclass files for examples
When I start up the examples: Foils.lyx, Literate.lyx, aa.lyx, on start up I get the Alert: The document uses an unknown textclass foils [literate-article, aa] Lyx will not be able to produce output correctly. Is something missing from my setup? The only foil* file I have found is /usr/share/lyx/layouts/foils.layout. Or is this just, more or less, noise and the default will work fine?...Well, the foils.lyx file gives 4 ERRORS when I try to send it to DVI. And the aa file give 41 ERRORS. Suggestions? Errors like: Layout 'Foilhead' does not exist in textclass 'cv' Trying to use default layout instead. show up on std error output. When I change the 'aa' textclass from 'cv' to 'article' I can get down to 6 errors, but these are the examples - they shouldn't have errors until after I mess with them. ;) Suggestions Carole [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Lyx upgrade Latex to Lyx *.cls files
On my SuSE 8.0 system, I want to upgrade my Lyx version (currently 1.1.6fix4) - however when I run rpm -Uvh --test lyx-1.2.1-1.i386.rpm I get failed dependencies tetex-dvips and tetex-latex. I tried installing the rpms from tetex but I must have gotten the wrong versions. My current version of teTeX is beta.20020207-70. Suggestions? Also 1) Is there a good guide for a newbie to learn to turn a *.cls file into something useful in Lyx 2) Are there many demos of different journal article formats somewhere? Thanks a bunch everybody - Carole [EMAIL PROTECTED]
