by Lyx itself.
I tried adding \makeletter before this piece of code, the problem
remains the smae.
Is there a way to restrict Lyx from inserting this piece of code?

Hi All, Can someone describe the contents and purpose of layout file in Lyx. Why is it necessary to creat/include layout file in addition to .cls file in Lyx? It will be of great help if someone can describe the minimal contents of the layout file in order to use a new class file with Lyx. I have already checked chapter 5 of Lyx customization manual. This chapter provides terribly long details about the layout file.
