Re: problem with continuous spellchecking
Thanks, that worked. The zoom was 140% and it's working now with 150%. Thanks again! ps: I hope this gets posted now in the right thread. This worked for someone with your same problem here: http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/8284 If that does work for you, could you please report what your zoom was at previously? Scott

Re: LyX generated XeTeX PDFs crash PDF Viewer (Preview and Adobe)
Math font: I don't know which one I am just changing to XeTeX and selecting Palatino as a font. Crash: In general, the reader crashes but I can still move the mouse and force quit the reader. Everything works fine with Preview on my mac. Adobe Reader 9.3.2 on Mac and Adobe Reader X on Windows crash when I open the document. When I have longer documents and the math part only appears on a later page, the readers crash when I go to that page. When I remove the math, everything works. I also changed the font and encountered the same problem. I had a similar problem on a different mac with preview once but I am not sure whether it was the same issue and can't try the document on another mac right now. Currently, XeTeX + math seem to be enough to cause the problem but maybe there are other conditions. I am attaching a pdf that crashes and the corresponding LyX document. Re: LyX generated XeTeX PDFs crash PDF Viewer (Preview and Adobe)
Actually, it doesn't work with these two packages... :( My new theory is that it's connected with the math font. I can produce the error with a very small document just same text + math. Everything seems to work with a figure... Any ideas? How can I handle with math font problem? Re: LyX generated XeTeX PDFs crash PDF Viewer (Preview and Adobe)
I just included these two packages in the preamble and so far it everything seems to work. I just printed the pdf from another computer, which used to crash the pdf viewer. I will do some more testing though. \usepackage{grffile} \usepackage{graphicx} @ Richard: Yes, I agree. It's certainly not a LyX issue. I should have been more clear on this. The reason why I prefer pdf graphics is that it is possible to scale them. I am using a Mac by the way. So the files work on my computer using Preview but not on a different mac. @Michael: How do I check this? LyX generated XeTeX PDFs crash PDF Viewer (Preview and Adobe)
Hi, some of the pdfs I create with lyx crash the PDF viewer on other computers. My computer displays the pdfs nicely but on other computers (I tried both Adobe reader on windows and Preview on Mac) the viewer crashes when I want to look at (or print) pages with figures (these pages are blank in the page overview). I think this only occurs when I use the following: 1) XeTeX with a system font 2) Graphic files that are pdfs Any solutions for this problem? I like using both XeTeX and pdf graphics but it's kind of annoying... Re: LyX 2.0 RC2 keeps crashing on Mac OS X 10.6.4
Hi, no I am not. But I am using Cinch (http://irradiatedsoftware.com/cinch/) and disabling it actually solves the problem! That works for now but something is going wrong here. I never had that problem with a different application. Thanks! LyX 2.0 RC2 keeps crashing on Mac OS X 10.6.4
Hi, LyX 2.0 RC2 keeps crashing on my Mac OS X 10.6.4... Sometimes it runs for a while before crashing, sometimes it crashes right away. When I resize or move the window it always seems to crash. Often I don't have to do anything to make it crash. Is that a known bug? Any solutions? I am happy to provide further information... Thanks, Greg -- GMX DSL Doppel-Flat ab 19,99 Euro/mtl.!
