I am new to LyX, and I can't figure out how to display multiple equations on the same line. For example, if I want x = y and a = b on the same line with a reasonable amount of space between them, I don't see how to use the LaTeX \qquad command in the middle of a Display Formula

I installed LyX on a Mac running OS 10.4, and if I go to View PDF (pdflatex), I see my document in pdf form with Adobe Reader just fine. However, I just installed LyX on another Mac (also with 10.4) and the default pdf viewer is Preview, which I hate. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how
