Can I use the mhchem package for chemical symbols within a formula or
equation Lyx. I tried to do and I can not enter code tex within the formula
or equation.

actually, it didnt work completely.
i put \sloppy at the beginning of a line and it made "system-s"
change to "sys-tems" which is certainly an improvement,
but \sloppy at the beginning of another paragraph had no affect
at all.
i then removed these and put \sloppy in t

in my 'book' class document i've foudn that Lyx
and/or latex insists on putting hyphens in unintelligent
places, such as "system-s".
can anyone tell me how i can disable all hyphenation ?

Are you using gcc? If so, it should compile cleanly. If you are still
