Layout / Document / Layout / font size: Palatino style obsolete?

2006-02-21 Thread Peter Hegt
Hi,

(I use Palatino because I like the font).

Just wondering, I read in
ftp://tug.ctan.org/pub/tex-archive/info/l2tabu/english/l2tabuen.pdf;
that palatino.sty is outdated and should be replaced by

\usepackage{mathpazo}
\usepackage[scaled=.95]{helvet}
\usepackage{courier}

(or some better sans serif font).

But when I do File / Export / LaTeX, then the .tex file uses the
palatino package:

...
\usepackage{palatino}
...

So who is right?

Met vriendelijke groet,

Peter Hegt

Yes, that's right.

LyX's font support is outdated. Place the above in the preamble (and let the
font combo use default).

Hi Jürgen,

I see. That wasn't clear from the 1.3.7 docu. So let's wait for the 1.4.

Thanks

I'm afraid to tell you that it won't change with 1.4 (nobody volunteered to
change it). But it's very high on my agenda for 1.5

Finally :) Will there be a osf or sc checkbox too?

I think so. But the ui needs some careful thought (separation of Roman, Sans
and Typewriter fonts etc.; another reason why I didn't happen yet).

Math and maybe Symbol font are missing too. Unfortunately LaTeX is quite
unsysthematic in this area. Nice to see you are planning to do it right
nevertheless :)
