LyX can't find style file

Hi there - I'm using LyX 1.6.1 on a Mac, and I'm trying to add a custom article style but running into a problem. I've put my .layout file in my LyX user directory, in a folder called "layouts". I put my style file in the same directory. However, when I make a new document and go to Documents >
