LyX folk,
I haven’t seen any reports about running LyX on Apple Silicon so I thought I’d
post a datapoint. I compiled LyX (with QT 5) from the latest source under
Kubuntu 20.04 for ARM in a Parallels VM running on a 14” MacBook Pro with a
10-core M1 Pro chip. The compile ran flawlessly (once I

That refers to the new ARM processors architecture from Apple as opposed to
the previous processors that are Intel based.

Hi everybody,
a few months ago (November, I think?) somebody raised the question of LyX
on Apple Silicon, how and whether it would run. As I've been using a LyX
version that I've compiled from source (with a feature included by Jürgen
Spitzmüller that's so far only in master - thanks again!), I

Stephan will know better than I, but presumably there are two options.

LyX folk,
Two questions:
1. Has anyone run the current MacOS LyX binaries on any of the new “Apple
silicon” Macs equipped with M1 chips (hence, via Rosetta 2 emulation)?
Reviews I’m seeing suggest that the vast majority of Intel binaries will
run with no problems and, indeed, will be at least as
