Did you check the used fonts in DocumentSettingsFonts?

I think it is the opposite. pdf look better with Latin Modern because 
the font is bolder that Computer Modern.


What happened to Christian is perhaps that he had customised his 
defaults in 1.5.x to use Latin Modern. He now sees the default Computer 
Modern in his 1.6 installation because it's not customised yet (class 
defaults is Computer Modern for the classes I use). And Computer Modern 
pdf look like bad in adobe reader.

Possibly, I'm just saying stupid things and this happens to me because I
haven't do some adjustment thas I should do (the LyX 1.5 was installed in my
office pc and because of this I didn't do the hypotetical adjustment).
