with a floating object (a picture) I have the problem, that a footnote
is printed over this floating object and not on the botton of the page.
It's the first page of a chapter, so the floating object is put at the
bottom and the footnote at the end of text but over the picture.

can insert a matrix from LyX-Math-menu - Symbols.
For the columns you can choose l for left, c for center
and r for right. In most applications the equal sign
will be in the middle of three colums.
