Dear all,
Using Lyx 2.3.1 on Ubuntu 18.04. When I try to add an exponent to an
equation using "^", the symbol, not the exponent environment appear.
Nevertheless, the document compiles correctly as the hat symbol is
introduced in the LaTeX document as is.
Any ideas?

Dear all,
One of my students has made his thesis with Lyx using memoir. Nevertheless,
after the first appendix, the second one starts on an even page, yet, all
chapters up until then start on an odd one. We can see that a blank page is
automatically inserted at the end of the first appendix like L

Yes Paul, it is. This is the same set of slides I use every year. No

Done. Changed encoding to UTF-8, saved the file, closed it, opened it up
again, set encoding to Language Default, save it, compiled it, the error

As Paul suggested, I will try to make a diff of the original file (it is in
my backups) and see if there is something weird hanging around.

Actually, it is created not right away, but after a while. I left the
Windows computer on with the file open, sure that the #...# file was
deleted. After lunch and some gardening, I came back and guess what? The
#...# is there, waiting for me, created at 14:29. I manually deleted it,

Dear Yu,
I have my document open since my last email yesterday. The #...# file was
not created. I just modified, save it, and the "error" window appeared
again. I have checked the lyx~ file and I have permissions for everything.
I closed Lyx, the lyx~ file is not deleted, then I manually did. I re

I did just that and backup folder is rendered in the window:

Dear all,

Dear all,
The results for a column in a table with a defined its width are strange.
It seems as if each cell has an added line above and below the text in a
cell. When previewing LaTeX code, I see this:

Dear all,
I want to repost my previous question but with a different context and with
a working example. As you can see on the attached file, I have a landscape
long table, for which each column has a predefined width. The resulting PDF
shows that the text in the cells of this table has a line spa
That is only part of a table that is 19x19. Hence, the width of the columns
is the same as in the original one. The first column is text, while the
rest are numeric. At the end of the day, both, the numeric and the text
columns are going to wrap.
