If you have a Mac, you can use Bibdesk... I hope somebody, some day, ports Bibdesk ideas/features to Win/Linux... - Julio Rojas jcredbe...@gmail.com On Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 9:04 AM, mario wrote: > Il giorno lun, 01/03/2010 alle 22.29 +0100, Daniel Lohmann ha scritto: >> On 01.03.2010, at 21:33, mario wrote: >> >> > >> >> Just an untested idea: Have you tried (mis-)using the "note" field for >> this purpose? >> >> @book {... >> >> note={\includegraphics{...}} >> } >> >> This probably won't work within LyX, as LyX would not copy the image >> files to the temporary generation directory. You would need to redefine the bibliography environment to create some kind of tabular where the reference is printed in one cell and the image in the adjacent cell. It is possible (but some work) to do it with some tweaking of biblatex but you must have some knowledge of LaTeX. Charles

Personally, I use the BibTeX entry type "misc" for such cases. yes, but then how do you get the scan image in the final .dvi (or .pdf) output? As I said, the Bibliography doesn't contain images. But maybe I misunderstand you. Images should not be part of the bibliography list - I have never seen that in a published work. I need for a report about the collection of books from a private library. When there are not too many entries (about 20-30) I would quickly create BibTeX entries for them before trying nasty TeX-tricks to get an image in the bibliography. Sorry that I cannot help you further. regards Uwe
