I the menue Layout-Document-Language you can change this. I did it already before, but the dvi and pdf is using english yet. :( Please try with your Lyx and see if it is true for you also, then give me the response, and thanks a lot in advance! :) -- Abraços! What you in fact need to do is ensure that any of the items that are in the wrong language. Select everything that needs to be in Portueguese and go to Edit Text Style. Choose the correct language from the Language drop box. This works for me... Dan

Oh my! Maybe this is the problem: I don't have at my Lyx a manu called 'Edit-Text Style'! On Lyx1.3.6 you simply need to go to Layout-Document-Language I dont have Edit-Text style either. Really it works if you do above.. But if the whole document is in portuguese it is better to set the document language. If that does not work, check your LaTeX installation, as others pointed out. Georg

The 'Layout-Document-Language' has no effect to change the automatic names at my Lyx. Maybe the problem is at my application. I'm using Windows Lyx. But I have it installed in Linux platform also, and I'll try to do that way on it now. Please wait a moment, I'll try and not be long at the callback :) -- Abraços! Douglas ___ Promoção Yahoo!
