When loading iTunes just now, I noticed an amusing little typo. I thought Apple
was above putting things in their software like Cick Continue, as is what
happens when you're prompted to enter your Apple ID and password, then Cick
continue

As was pointed out, you cannot install an earlier version of the Mac OS on
a system that came with a later version. It's just not supported. I don't use
Pro Tools, but I know there is a Mountain Lion version.

I have now contacted the developers to see if they are aware of the issue. By
the way, I tried Sarah's suggestion of the CleanMyMac application and I have
to say I was impressed. Lynne, I think, was svn more impressed than I as it
took away a lot of junk which other similar
ITunes doesn't manage updates to mac based apps, that's the job of the app
store. I have gotten this before, not sure what I did to solve it though

The prior poster is correct that itunes does not manage mac bassed apps from
the App Store but the Mac App Store itself.
To solve this though can you sign out and back in? I have not had this issue,
but am tossing it out there in case it works.
