Is there any chance that you are using your Mac Mini without a monitor plugged
in? I think I have heard of this problem when people try to use the Mac Mini
with no monitor.

I am, but going to get a different monitor tomorrow hopefully, because this one
has the wrong connection and to get the correct adapter will cost more than the
monitor i bought last weekend itself.
I don't understand though, what does a monitor being connected have to do with

command option s is the key stroke to hit from with in iTunes. This is the
same keystroke you can use to show hide the side bar in the finder.

Well the thing is that there is no way for me to know whether or not the device
is turned on or off. I did try to restart but nothing happened so not sure
whether or not I managed to turn it off really.

George, in the View menu, there are entries for showing or hiding bothe the
status bar and the Side bar. press VO + M to enter the menus, arrow over to
the View menu and press VO+down arrow. then find the show or hide side
bar entry and hit enter.

the unit to vibrate when you flick it back?
