I believe as stated it will. If you find it easier you can set up a profile to only have ether net. 1. go to network prefs 2. Click locations, then edit 3. click add and name it. 4. delete the services you don't want.. Now when you switch to that location you can only have Ethernet. I use this

When you plug in an ethernet cable, the mac does automatically switch to using ethernet (assuming it's not been changed from the defaults to do so) It's easy enough to find out though, just open system preferences, select network, then look at the various connection types listed in the services
