I’ve been playing around with the keyboard, but can’t find how to create other
acute accents. In Spanish the acute accent is used with all five vowels, but I
can only find an acute E by using the options key. Have I missed something? -

Hello Andy,
Option-e gives an accute accent as a dead key, so you can type any appropriate
lettre afterwards and the accute accent will be applied to it. This is true of
all the other accents I gave you.
However, if you’re typing a lot of Spanish, why not add the Spanish keyboard
layout in

Some time back Anne was kind enough to tell me how to create letters with
accents. I thought it was one of those things I’d always remember, but guess
what, my memory has let me down! So Anne, or anybody else, can you please
remind me how this is done, and I’ll file it this time,
I know that at one time on this list there was a key board chart but I don't
keep local archives and I don't want to go back through 3 years. I'll look in
my recycled messages folder and see if I saved it there.

You get accented letters by using the Option key with various letters.
Option-e - accute accent;
Option-i - Circumflex;
Option-u - diresis also known as umlaut;
Option-Accent sign - grave accent;
Option-q - OE diphthong.
Do you need any others?
