Ok. I always used an Ethernet cable as I would never trust to wireless
for a re-install. This is probably why I had no issues as I have never
had to negotiate a wireless window during a recovery.

me troubleshoot that which was cool.

I have done this many times.
You need to be connected to the internet and the slightly awkward bit is
signing into the Apple Store.
You need to ensure focus is on the apple store sign in window with
window chooser and then you need to route the Mouse to Voiceover with Vo
Command F5 and pe
From the HD recovery disk, can I reinstall the operating system,
resetting everything???
