Hello,
Is there a way on the Mac to get an alert when the battery is at 20% and/or10%
as is the case on the iPhone? Mine is at 7% now—about to plug it in, an so
far,no alerts
More a curiosity than anything else-thanks.

How can I please check the status of the battery?
How can I check the time please?
What's the easiest - quickest way to find an edit box on a webpage, say logging
into a bank account please?
How does one go back to the page they were on when on a website please?

Hello,
In addition to Sarah Phil’s responses, I’ll add the following:
1. There is a built-in hotkey to announce the date time. The hotkey is Right
Option + T. I believe this hotkey is disabled by default. To enable it, press
VO+F8 to open the VO Utility, select Commanders, select the Keyboard
bracket does this -

Hi!
And yet further to what has been said! *smile*
To make sure that the shortcuts work properly when you go to VO+f8 you should
be on the general option arrow right until you find [allow voice over to be
controlled by apple scripts] and make sure that is checked!
Then you can press command+8 to

The reason I don't teach that at all is the key board short cut works but it is
so slow, it's way way quicker to go to the extras menu. It takes about 30
seconds for tghe key stroke about 10 to 15 once you get the hang on your vo
keys to do the same.
I forgot about the web rotor in qn mode. I
Hi Sarah!
The only thing I can think of for you to get such a slow reaction from Option+T
is because you might not have the [Allow voice over to be controlled by apple
scripts] checked in the general part of VO+f8
If you have this checked I do not know why it is slow for you!
When I hit
Oops I should of said Option+T and most of the time it works straight away!

Actually I do have it checked. it is still slow, the first time, between 15 and
30 seconds. I timed it once. I think even my friend's mac book pro quad core
with 8 gigs is painfully slow this way as well.
Take care. ah well. I'll just stick to ctrl f8 and vo right to time. as it is
much
You can also hit voice over plus shift plus K to enable keyboard commander. This
works for disabling as well.

You can also install a script to announce battery status. All I have to do
is press option-b and battery status is announced. I am running Snow
Leopard.
