No that was not on the mac. lol! That was on the unnamable
So what I did was, on the PC in windows 7, remove all the files from
the flash drive, format it, return the files, use eject to release
the drive, and then take it back to the Mac. which saw it just
fine. then I had to remember to use eject before removing it from the Mac.
This transition
That works. I wonder if something got corrupted when you unplugged the flash
drive from the other place. I've corrupted more hard drives and flash drives
with out ejecting them then I want to count lol!

Hi Josh,
Welcome to the list. In additions to John's hint about editing your Finder
preferences to show these external drives on the Desktop, you can always view
all the drives that are connected to your computer by using the shortcut to
display your computer setup, cmd-shift-c. From Tim
don't forgt cmd option l for the downloads location. YOu can find all of this a
and more under the go menu.
Take care.

I had hoped to transfer some documents---actually, all of my
documents--from the PC to the Mac. But when I put in the flash
drive, I get the message that the disk cannot be read. The only one
of my four flash drives that the Mac is happy to look at is the NVDA
installation disk. I would
You actually get the message that the disc can't be read? The windows
machine sees it fine from what I gather. What file system are the discs in?

They are my miscellaneous flash drives, with mostly documentation,
but a little music, some .exe files, just a bunch of stuff I carry
around to student computers. The Apple spoke a message about the
drives not having been ejected correctly, and if I could figure out
how to do it the Mac would
