Are you attempting to keep the entire Time Machine system, or one specific snap shot of the disk? If the latter, then I would suggest using carbon copy cloner or super duper. Time machine backups break the rule of never creating har links at the directory level, so I am not sure how programs

I've never tried using the jump to time option, but just for reference, I've never gotten the backup or rewind functions (or whatever vlc calls it) to work, in *any* version of vlc with any version of osx. I don't think you're experiencing anything new, but it could just be me. --- Mac
