Hi.
I have recently tried Apple Numbers from the iWork suite on the iPad.
My experience has been quite limited. I tried one of the example table
personal savings. After a while I could at least read the table on
screen, but I did not manage to change any of its fields. What are

Hi.
Does anyone know of an accessible, classic, crosswords game for iOS?
Preferably internationalized so that I could play german crosswords
puzzle too?

HI all,
THis is on sale on MacUpdate today for $49. I've seen it before and been
tempted but never bothered. Is it worth it? Is there anything better?
Work are paying, so cost (for once) isn't an issue.
Cheers,

Hello Dónal,
ABBYY FineReader is definitely worth it. It's the best OCR for Mac and can
handle three languages in one document. It's also really simple to use.
Cheers,
Anne

Thanks Anne. Do I need anything else (software-related) to go with it?
Looking at older threads in the list archive seems to indicate that it was once
the case.

I've managed to connect to 1 of my FTP servers, but all my pages for my sites
are stored on an external hard drive. When I go to look for the place where my

about uploading stuff from an external hard drive?
Hello Dónal,
You can now scan multiple pages into one file with ABBYY FineReader. However,
if you have a lot to scan, it's quicker to use VueScan for the scanning part as
it can be set to scan multiple pages automatically. With FineReader, you have
to click the Resume button then switch
Hello Josh,
You need a scanner or a very good camera for ABBYY FineReader or any other OCR
program for the Mac unless you're getting image PDFs that need OCR.
If you're looking for an OCR app for the iPhone, I'd strongly recommend Prizmo
or Perfect OCR although other people also recommend Text
Thank you Anne, I will probably get both pieces of software.

Hello.
1. go to the part where you see your side of the stuff.
2. hit cmd up arrow a bunch of times until you get to your part where the
computers/drives are list. Cmd c will not work. Perhaps I need to contact the
author about this.
3. brows to your external drive and find the stuff.
4.
Oh I see, so there's no app that could potentially use the FaceTime

I hate the iPad, I have used one that a Blind friend uses, and my sighted
wife's.
It seems that they don't react to the touch as well as an iPhone or iPod.
I also don't like the way separate windows, like in settings, don't give you
a back button, and it is hard to get back down to a nested
Yeah. the setting ints section is actually decided in to sections. thats what I

Take care.

Hello Josh,
Theoretically, the FaceTime camera can be used, but for a blind person to get a
good image is really difficult, and considering how cheap a portable flatbed
scanner is, it really isn't worth the hassle.
Cheers,
Anne
